Privacy Policy

LMK School (“LMK School,” “we,” “us”) is operated by LET ME KNOW PLEASE LLC, 10720 Traymore Lane, Charlotte, NC 28278. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email hello@lmkplz.com.
What we collect
- Account email. We sign you in with a one-time email link, so we store the email address you use.
- Your school-app login. When you connect a school app (for example, ParentSquare), you give us the username and password for that account. We store it encrypted (AES-256-GCM, with the key managed by Google Cloud KMS) and use it only to sign in on your behalf and read your information. We never post, reply, sign, or pay on your behalf. If you disconnect, we delete the stored login right away.
- School content. The posts, messages, calendar events, assignments, and your children’s names, grades and classes that your connected school app shows you — so we can organize them into your feed.
- Your preferences. Your notification and digest settings.
- Billing information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and your subscription status — we never see or store your full card number.
- Mobile number (optional). Only if you enroll in text updates. We store it encrypted, plus a one-way keyed identifier for lookup — never as a public id — and use it solely to send the texts you chose. Turning texts off removes it from active use.
- Technical logs. Limited operational logs needed to run the service securely and reliably.
How we use it
- To build and show your feed, calendar, and assignment lists.
- To send the email notifications and digests you choose.
- To process your subscription and provide support.
- To keep the service secure and working.
How we share it
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run LMK School:
- Google (Firebase / Google Cloud): hosting, database, and encryption-key management.
- Stripe: subscription payments.
- Resend: sending your notification emails.
- Twilio: sending text messages, if you enroll in SMS. Your number is shared with Twilio only to deliver the texts you requested.
- Anthropic: we use AI to summarize and categorize school posts; the text of posts and messages may be sent to Anthropic’s API for that purpose. It is not used to train models on your behalf.
- Your connected school app (e.g., ParentSquare): we access it on your behalf using the login you provide.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
How long we keep it
- Feed items and related data age out automatically (about 180 days).
- Your stored school login is deleted as soon as you disconnect.
- Operational logs are kept only as long as needed for security and reliability.
- You can ask us to delete your account and data by emailing hello@lmkplz.com.
How we protect it
We encrypt data in transit (HTTPS) and encrypt your stored school login at rest with a managed key. Access is restricted to the systems that need it. No method of storage or transmission is ever 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices
- Disconnect your school app at any time — this deletes the stored login.
- Change or turn off notifications in Settings.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by emailing hello@lmkplz.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law.
Children’s privacy
LMK School is intended for parents and guardians. It organizes information about children that a parent is already authorized to access through their school app; it is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll revise the “Effective” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
